Self-care is primarily about taking care of yourself in order to alleviate stress, improve your well-being, and find inner peace. This can take many forms for various people, and it is a highly personalised practise. The ability to love God and others is dependent on how we love ourselves. The personal belief system and implementation strategies of each person influence their notion of self-care.
Self care and soul care are two different words with different meanings.
Self-care is defined as taking steps to maintain your emotional, mental, and physical well-being. Soul care entails feeling that you are deserving of those measures that promote your spiritual health, well-being, and progress.
Self-care is the act of doing anything, such as practising yoga, reading a book, or going for a stroll. The feeling you experience when you do the item is called soul care. It can be joy, freedom, calm, or fulfilment.
Self-care entails accepting our physique as humans while on this planet and engaging our bodies through all of our senses (sight, smell, taste, sound, and touch). Allowing our spirit to guide us to meaningful life experiences that feel pleasant, thrilling, and nutritious is what soul care is all about.
Some ways to nurture your soul everyday:
-Takecare of body- You are a Divine being encased in a physical body for the time being. It is your responsibility to look after your body till you die. The most important component of taking care of your body is to have good views about what is physically feasible, especially as you get older. Make it a point to move your body in a healthy way every day.
-Take control of your narrative- By taking ownership of your story, you get the ability to change what you were shamed into believing about yourself and reconnect with your genuine self. Stepping out of the stigmatised role of victim, persecutor, or rescuer is vital for physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Begin to work for what you want and take small actions toward achieving your goals. When you make changes based on your own needs on a regular basis, you release shame and improve your self-worth while also moving away from ego and toward self-love and forgiveness.
-Meditate- Meditation has been scientifically established to offer numerous health advantages, and there are a variety of meditation techniques to choose from. The ability to settle your mind is one of the immediate benefits of meditation. You can more easily hear signals from your higher self when your mind is peaceful and you become present. All you need is the desire to listen to them and love whatever comes up.
-Grounding is something you should practise- Grounding is the method of realigning your body’s electrical energy by reconnecting to the earth––is restorative on many levels, according to medical studies. One of the biggest concentrations of nerve endings in your body is on the soles of your feet. Walking barefoot on the ground helps to align your body’s electrical circuitry with the electromagnetic field of the earth. Simply walk barefoot in the grass, sand, or mud, allowing your skin to come into contact with the natural ground.
-Affirmations- Affirmations are positive remarks that can help you question and overcome negative and self-sabotaging beliefs. You can start to see positive improvements if you repeat them frequently and trust in them.
-Make a request for help- Asking your higher power for aid, whether you call it praying, talking to God, or whatever you want to name it, can help you tune into the signals and messages from your soul and direct you toward living your truth.
