Take a moment to consider the lesson you learn every time you board a plane. In the event of an emergency, you must first put on your oxygen mask. That’s because you can’t help anyone else until you’ve taken care of yourself. That principle, however, does not apply only when you are thousands of feet in the air. It’s always the case. Some may call it selfish, but having all of that in your pocket is the first step in creating a nice atmosphere and keeping others happy around you.
It’s no wonder that when it comes to physical self-care, we often fall into the trap of thinking that it’s all about what we eat or how hard we exercise, and that we have to look a certain way to be healthy, happy, or attractive. However, happy, healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and physical self-care entails nourishing our bodies in a variety of ways, including sleep, food, regular physical activity, sunshine, positive thoughts, and so on.
I used this word ‘nourishing’ purposefully. Many of us have turned our physical bodies into a battleground, a place where we may punish ourselves, but we are the only ones who suffer in the end. The more our bodies are stressed, the more disease we attract. Keeping our body healthy should be our first and foremost priority. In the last several years, I’ve learnt that having great health is the only way to make the most of life, regardless of how wealthy you are or how many friends you have. Many of us are hesitant to pursue our life goals, relationships, or business ideas because we are unsure of how things will turn out tomorrow. We spend so much time trying to make sure we’re on the ‘correct’ road, but the truth is that THERE IS NO RIGHT PATH… ONLY THE ONE ON WHICH YOU ARE CURRENTLY!!
Nothing matters, it is just and just your body that will accompany you through your ups and downs. Accept nothing if it means sacrificing your health.
FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR BODY AND GIVE IT THE CARE THAT IT-AND YOU- DESERVE.
